Cable Fight Over

I mentioned the other day about the cat-fight going on between Cable TV of East Alabama (CTVEA), the local cable company, and WTVM, the local ABC affiliate. The cable company had sent out letters — and posted on their Website (since removed) — a request for their customers to contact WTVM and WXTX (the Fox [...]

It took a 4-run 8th inning, but the Columbus Catfish managed to come from behind and beat the Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees) and stay on pace a game out of first place.
Three 2-out singles in the top of the first gave the Catfish the early 1-0 lead. 3B Cesar Suarez, C Nevin Ashley, and LF Ryan [...]

Catfish Drop Game To Charleston

Charleston RiverDogs (Yankees) 3B Mitch Hilligoss tied the SAL consecutive game hit streak tonight as Charleston knocked the Columbus Catfish from the top of the South Division. Hilligoss hit a 2-run double in the 8th inning, his last at-bat, to keep the streak alive, and to contribute to Charleston’s 9-1 win over the Catfish.

But, in my inquiries of trying to obtain more information about it, the GM of the local channel (WTVM) committed a horrible error in judgement in the way he responded.
You [...]

The net effect is that this little blog might look screwy for a little bit while software updates happen. Because I think I’m not going to simply upgrade, but to do a [...]

Catfish Win In 15

Columbus Catfish 3B Cesar Suarez belted his first home run of the season at a most opportune time. In the bottom of the 15th, after the lead runner had just been thrown out attempting to steal, Suarez sent the next pitch off the signage over the left field wall to give the Catfish a 3-2 [...]

Remember

During the time I wore my country’s uniform, I was mostly in a situation where I was at home. That is, I got up in the morning and went to work.
Only, instead of driving to a factory or an office, I went to an Army post.
We’d occasionally deploy on a training exercise, but those really [...]

It’s Official

Yes, it’s official.
The Little Princess is getting married.
No date has been set … or at least shared with us … but this weekend, LT asked the Little Princess to marry him. And she said “yes.”
Last week, LT invited the Wife and me to dinner. We’d taken him to dinner on occasion, and he’d taken us [...]

Despite having the worst record in the league, the Savannah Sand Gnats have managed to split the first 6 games with the Columbus Catfish this season. The back and forth continued today, with the Catfish coming from behind then holding on to beat Savannah 4-2.
Three Catfish errors in the 5th inning gave Savannah a 1-0 [...]
